I (Jake) grew up on the Central Coast of California and moved to Ukraine in 2000 at age 19. After learning Russian and spending 3 years on a church planting team in Priluki, Ukraine, a new team came together and we moved to Chernigov to see a new work begin.

Anya is originally from Kiev, Ukraine and not long after placing her faith in Christ while a teenager, she began to help out with the church plant in Priluki on the weekends. She also was part of the  team that moved to Chernigov in 2003.

By God’s grace we have been able to be a part of Christian Bible Church and we are continuing to work for the advance of the gospel in this largely unchurched city of 300,000.

In 2006 Anya and I got married and now we have three children, Maia (5), Lev (2), and Eve(0).

Back in 2005 we started a publishing ministry, In Lumine Media. Our goal is to see solid gospel-centered resources made available in the Russian language.

In 2011 our church became affiliated with the Acts 29 Church Planting Network.
