Mission

Our goal is very simple: To further the gospel through church planting, book publishing, and serving the poor.

Church Planting

Currently we are living in Chernigov, Ukraine and serving in Christian Bible Church, a non-denominational evangelical church that we helped start six years back.

Our desire is to see a Christ-centered, gospel-shaped community of believers reflect what true faith is in this largely unchurched city. We believe that new churches being established is the most effective way to see the gospel take root and lives transformed by the grace of God.

Jake serves as the teaching pastor and Anya is involved in worship.

Book Publishing

Alongside pastoring and working in Christian Bible Church, we have also been apart of starting a publishing house, In Lumine. After living here for 5 years, it became apparent that there is a large need for God-centered Christian resources. With no experience and no idea of what we were doing, we dove into translating and publishing a book. After that, we felt God leading us to continue on and work towards seeing more books published and distributed to Russian speaking believers in Ukraine, Russia, and elsewhere.

In 2009 we incorporated in the states and hope to expand our efforts through more effectively networking with churches and ministires in the states that have a desire to see theological resources developed in the Russian language.

We have and continue to translate material from authors such as John Piper, Wayne Grudem, Mark Driscoll, and Tim Keller. Recently we released a site for all of Piper’s material available in Russian and hope to create similar sites for other authors in the future.

Serving the poor

Recognizing that social justice and the gospel are inseparable, we want to be as helpful as we can to the people in need around us. We have taken on many projects to improve the life of the kids in a local mental hospital and our church regularly visits a few orphanages. It has been a joy to distribute humanitarian aid to prisons, orphanages, and the mental hospital.

We hope that practical love will win people over to Jesus in the end.
